Hey Mama Hey!
ObieQ turned 18months this week and he must be advanced because he is showing signs of the “Terrific Twos” EARLY! Dinner time has become extremely unpredictable. On one hand he has a ferocious appetite and enjoys foods like pad Thai, quinoa and Greek yogurt! On other days I am begging him to eat Mac and Cheese. Those nights drive me crazy. Here I am, a grown woman negotiating with a baby….and I am not sure who is winning.
There is one, and I do mean one, recipe that I do have in my repertoire that gives me a #MamaWin every time. These are my Toddler Turkey Bites. Like most of you I discovered this while cruising on Pinterest and sipping on boxed wine. (Wait, y’all don’t drink boxed wine? That is another post for another day!)
With Papa Fresh traveling for work this week I decided to whip up a batch of my bites, so dinner time can be easy as possible since I am flying solo. I wanted to share this recipe as part of the Flavor Your Life’s campaign.
I received this product for free from Moms Meet (Momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links)
This recipe was reflects so much of the flavor of my Mama hood style. It’s easy, healthy and if you need to change it up to fit your family….GO FOR IT MAMA! The Flavor of My Life is all about going with the flow and changing it up as needed, while never compromising quality.
For this recipe I use:
1lb of ground turkey
1 grated apple
1 baked sweet potato
1 cup of breadcrumbs
1 egg beaten
Season to taste with Mrs. Dash and Easy Peasie veggie blend
Y’all I am no ones food blogger so bear with me. Here are the directions I use:
- Turn on whatever Netflix show ObieQ is into right now. This is very important as it keeps him busy. This day it was Word Party.
- Pour myself a glass of wine. (You can skip this step but I strongly recommend)
- Dump all ingredients into a big bowl
- OH shoot. We forgot to turn on the oven. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix up your ingredients and eyeball it to see if it is too wet or dry. Adjust as you need
This is when you can freestyle, you have 2 options
- Bake in oven (only 15 mins for these mini muffins. If you are making them bigger, maybe 20mins just keep an eye on them.)
- Form into small patties and cook in a skillet on the stove.
On this day I baked in the oven, TBH Q prefers them as patties on the stove but I just didn’t have the time to stand over the stove. No matter which option I choose, I use EVOO. I have been obsessed with choosing the right European Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I love one that is light but has a great flavor. Zucchi hits all the marks for my family. I use it in everything from salad dressings to sautéing veggies,. I also am using my EVOO in a spray bottle and it has been a game changer!
Look at this pleased toddler. This is why this is a go to recipe for me. Try this at home and let me know how it works for you. You know I love when you talk back, so let me know how you use EVOO in your kitchen on a daily basis!
